“With out a doubt this is an exceptional workshop. It combines the two most important tenets I strive to live by: being deeply connected to nature and embracing the human spirit.
I’m looking forward to next year.”

“This teaching works. Putting ancient teachings (really a technology) into clear, applicable methods to use immediately and fluidly in all aspects of life – home, community, work and play. It gives me hope for the future of humanity. Thank you for the opportunity to experience such powerful teachings.”

P.I.N.E. Executive Director, Andrew McMartin describes his experience with the Art of Mentoring:

“I arrived at the Art of Mentoring class in 2009 with 12 years of experience teaching children in the outdoors, and 8 years working with children using indigenous skills as tools, and the principles of the Art of Mentoring and Coyote’s Guide as resources. I felt as though I knew what I was in for. Luckily, I’m okay with being wrong!
Once the course began, I felt completely surrounded, immersed in a culture of connection to myself, to the others there, and to nature. These themes were central to every activity and lesson.
A culture was carefully created by those facilitating the course, choosing songs, games, and curriculum that directed our attention to specific natural cycles and events. The flow of the course was designed just so, mimicking natural cycles seen in the environment and in people. I was blown away.
The power of the Art of Mentoring for me was in this simple fact: I consistently felt as though an inexplicable “something” that was missing in my life was all around me here. I was immersed in it. The experiences I had during this course should have been there for me as a child, a teen, a young adult… this is why we brought it to Ontario.”
