The Primitive Kitchen

Fire is an amazing way to bring community together, whether sharing time around a fireplace, a campfire, or cooking on the BBQ in the backyard. The Primitive Kitchen takes this principle as far as it can go, bringing people together to create various means of cooking using only natural materials and fire. Various baking, steaming, grilling, boiling and barbequing methods will be created with mud, clay, and fibrous materials sourced locally. We then fire them to create a semi-permanent kitchen, complete with central fire pit and preparation tables. Twice throughout the course we will cook using our creations, ending in a final feast like nothing you have ever experienced! Fire regulations and permits will be discussed, ensuring everyone leaves with the proper information, experience and know-how to recreate this experience in their backyard, or in a more rural environment.
