Safe, fun, and full of adventure!
P.I.N.E. summer camps offer creative play, exploration and adventure, as campers work together in small groups throughout their week. Camps introduce nature awareness and experiential knowledge of plants, mammals, wildlife tracking, birds and wilderness living skills. We encourage campers to have fun and play safe, all the while nurturing their connection to nature and allowing them to feel at home outdoors.
Connection, Cooperation, Confidence, and Competence
These four words represent the results of P.I.N.E. programming. Our philosophy is that children become connected with the outdoors when they spend time in the outdoors. When they are connected with their environment they are healthier, happier, have vastly increased knowledge of place. They also learn how to independently and cooperatively deal with whatever adversity they face through the year, be it a rain storm, winter winds, adversity in life, or disagreements with others. Through skilled mentoring, we refocus these moments to produce a high level personal, community, and environmental awareness. A deep knowledge of place, and an intense curiosity and motivation to learn is always our goal (mixed with a high level of playfulness!).
2011 Registration Opens in the Fall of 2010 for Overnight Camps, and in Winter 2011 for Day Camps.
