Queen’s Camp School 08

Third year P.H.E. students spent the week out in the wilderness of the Bon Echo area learning, playing, and generally enjoying a ton of sunshine!!! An incredible week summed up beautifully by one of the students…

“Sunrise Epiphany:

It’s times like this when I’m sitting on a silent lake with nothing in front of me but my fellow paddlers and a breathtaking sunrise that I realize how little of life’s beauties I’m taking advantage of. In the real world I worry about marks, money, love and am controlled by time. It amazes me how much time I spend worrying about these issues. But who’s to say that that is the real world?

This is the real world. Complete silence except for the occasional chirp or caw from a bird that reminds me that sounds, other than the buzz in my head exist. My hungry eyes have never been so satisfied. I see how the ripples on the lake play with the reflection of the sunrise and how the dark green contrast of the trees allow my eyes to recognize just how stunning and magnificent the colors of the sky are.

It’s beautiful here. Innocent and pure. It brings out the best in me and takes my breath away.

And I love it.”
