March Break Nature Retreat

Our March Break Nature Retreat is the perfect opportunity for families and individuals to escape the city, unplug, meet new friends, and connect with nature. Each day holds new adventures as participants wander through quiet snowy forests, cozy up by the fire to tell stories, relax in the sauna, share newly learned skills and more.

Program content highlights*:

  • Snowshoeing
  • Wildlife tracking
  • Forest games and adventures
  • Wilderness crafts, such as felting and natural basket making
  • Survival skills, such as traditional fire-making and navigation
  • Storytelling in the lodge and around the fire

*Activities are tailored to be age and stage appropriate. Daily programming for children is suitable for ages 4 to 12. Unfortunately, we are unable to welcome children under the age of 4.

Early-bird pricing (before January 6, 2020): Adult: $485, Child: $470

Regular pricing (after January 6, 2020): Adult: $505, Child: $490

  • Daily nature programming with skilled instructors
  • Accommodation in Wolf Den’s beautiful lodge or heated cabin
  • Breakfast and lunch each day

Applications to registration for MBNR 2020 will begin on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at noon!

Once you’ve submitted an application, we’ll reach out within a few weeks to confirm your acceptance into the program and room assignment or follow up with additional questions.

Location & Lodging

Located just 9km outside the West Gate of Ontario’s world famous Algonquin Park, the Wolf Den Hostel and Nature Retreat is a beautiful log cabin lodge. All participants stay in one of their beautiful heated cabins or in the main lodge (rooms are assigned after registration; please note washrooms are in the main lodge only). The Lodge is equipped with showers, a sauna, and a full kitchen.

Additional nights before or after the program can be arranged privately with the Wolf Den. To learn more about the Wolf Den, visit

Please note that dogs, cats, and other pets are not allowed. Please leave your furry family members at home.


Coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch are included. Participants are invited to bring and prepare their own dinners in a communal kitchen. If you would like to participate, dinners will have a potluck option.


Transportation is not provided. Please coordinate your own transportation as necessary.
