The Wilderness Adventure Program is an expedition-based program for ages 13-17. With a focus on high adventure and skill building, this is a four-weekend experience from January through June.

Each weekend is a different type of overnight excursion in a new location around Southern Ontario. Diverse areas of focus for each weekend will provide a range of experiences in the near and far wilderness.

Participants can choose to take on self directed projects to expand their learning throughout the program. Projects will be presented on the final weekend to the group and parents/caregivers present.

2018 Dates

  1. January 26-28 – Norval Outdoor Centre, Georgetown, Ontario3362640779_2975525f0e_o
    • Practice and learn winter survival skills, wildlife tracking, winter camping
  2. March 16-18 – Algonquin Park, Ontario
    • Field test winter skills, snowshoeing, winter camping, with the potential for wolf and moose tracking
  3. April 20-22 – Near Gravenhurst, Ontario
    • Spring camping, canoeing, fire by friction, spring edibles, and the ‘big four’ of surviving in the wild
  4. June 1-3 – Norval Outdoor Centre, Georgetown, Ontario
    • Primitive cooking, overnight solos, closing celebration and projects presented!

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this program, we do not offer a trial period. Teens and families must commit to the full program. No refunds will be issued after 28 calendar days or more prior to the start date of this program.
