Coyote Camp

Coyote Camp (Ages 4 – 12)

Coyote camp is all about learning the Coyote’s way of life. Coyotes live at the edges. They are highly aware and keep to the periphery of our perception. They’re adaptable and fill an important niche. In a balanced ecosystem, their impact is harmonious with their surroundings. Because of these reasons and more, we strive to be like the Coyote.

Coyote camp follows a fantastical storyline that inspires campers to complete daily challenges and activities that are fun, promote learning (without it seeming like school), grow their awareness and build resilience. Wilderness skills are a focal point of the week and campers will be encouraged to follow their inspiration to learn new skills such as: friction fire, carving, basket-making, wildlife tracking, and edible and medicinal plants.

Key focus elements for the week include: games and play, exploration and adventure, working as part of a team, and developing naturalist and survival skills

Content includes:

  • wildlife tracking skills
  • bird language
  • silent movement
  • engaging the senses
  • natural camouflage
  • teamwork
  • a variety of wilderness living and naturalist skills
