Our Sit-a-thon 2016 Fundraiser is officially over – and we raised just over $10,000!
If you would like to support our Best Day Ever bursary fund, we are always accepting donations! The best way you can support us is by pledging a monthly donation.
Please register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. You will then be sent a Participant’s Package with further instructions.
2) Join our online community
Social media elites, you are in luck! We’ve launched a Facebook Event Page just for Sit-a-thon 2016! 2) Choose a sit spot
Your sit spot should be close enough that you’ll visit and close to nature. Yes, you can have a sit-spot on your front porch or back yard or apartment building balcony! Click here for more details on finding your spot.
You should visit your sit-spot at least once before the sit-a-thon. Ideally you find a spot and visit it as often as you can for 5 minutes to an hour. But we know life is busy: The important thing is that you have an idea of what it feels like to do a sit spot prior to the sit-a-thon.
4) Raise some funds
Each participant will have their own CanadaHelps profile page linked directly to Sit-a-thon 2016. Fundraising so that families in need of financial assistance can participate in our nature connection programs is a great cause, and we believe that others will agree. Put your message out to your community and let’s see what we can come up with! If you would like to participate, click here to start your own CanadaHelps page in support of the Sit-a-thon 2016!
5) Do your sit spot
On or around September 10th, remember to do your sit spot and soak in all that nature has to offer you. Remember, sitting still for one or several hours can be a difficult task in this day and age but we guarantee you that the benefits are great and well worth it!
